How to Produce High Quality Content

Think about the content that speaks to you and no one else. That one photo, video, caption that hits home. The type of content that makes you double tap, comment, share with a friend, or bookmark for your safe-keeping. That is quality content.

Producing high-quality content isn’t just about the type of content that you post. The accounts with the “best content” are also those that consistently create and publish content that their audience is not only going to like but also engage and remember.

High-quality content should add value to your community, seamlessly align with your brand’s aesthetic, and help bring you one step closer to fulfilling your vision and your goals.

The Instagram algorithm is smart. And with over 1 billion creatives on its platform, Instagram needs to be able to surface and share the best content with their users in order to keep them coming back day after day.

It notices when you’re creating quality content that resonates with your audience and as a result, puts you and your posts in a better position to be potentially discovered by new audiences.

To do so, it’s important to pinpoint the who, what, and why about both your brand AND your audience. Who are you as a brand? What type of content do you produce, and why do you share it? Also, who is your audience? What do they like and why do they follow you?

Once you’ve got a solid understanding of the who, what, and why, the next step is to design, plan, and share! Having a home to see all the content you want to post in advance helps ease your creative process, allows you to curate the optimal feed for engagement and discovery, and streamlines your storytelling process. Use UNUM’s Grid or Story Space to design, visualize, and share your story.

Utilize UNUM’s Analytics features and/or Instagram Insights (if you have a business account) to find out the best times to post, what type of previously published content performed the best, and what hashtags you could use to increase discoverability.

Lastly, stay ahead of trends. Keep in mind what holidays, events, festivals, etc. are coming up so that you can plan your content accordingly.
